UKRAINE – Matching Funds Request: Notification of review outcome

Dear Colleagues,

This is to kindly update you on the process of approval of the Matching Funds:

  1.  TRP Applicant Response Form has been shared with the TRP and we are expecting TRP clearance any time soon.
  2. We just received the Grants Approval Committee- 1 (GAC1) review outcome which endorses the funding amount, allows requested exemption for Human Rights Component and provides the recommendations from GAC1 and the partners. Recommendations form the partners and GAC1 are summarized at the end of the attached document. We would kindly encourage working group on TB component to respond at earliest convenience to the recommendations but no later than February 19, 2018.
  3. We have been successful progressing, in parallel, with grant making with the PRs and are close to finalize negotiations before the deadline of February 22, 2018.
  4. Next step is to submit the final grant/s documents for GAC 2 for March 8 review.


We would like to inform that:  during the week of February 19, 2018 representative of the Ukraine Country Team form the Global Fund (Mr. David Kokiashvili) will join the WHO GLC mission to take part in joint discussion and reviews regarding the TB programme in Ukraine. This mission is aimed at forming the joint consensus on way forward with in the scopes of NTP Ukraine and  the donor supported grants and to set the ground/plans for possible high level mission by partners during the period of April –May 2018.
